Marlene began knitting/crocheting/sewing for her 2
daughters (Nicole & Amee) in the early 80's. She found
an interest in patchwork and quilting in the early 90's when
attending a sampler patchwork and quilting craft class.
This is where her love for quilting began.
After years of time consuming hand quilting and struggling
with large quilts on a domestic sewing machine, the
decision to purchase an American Professional Quilting
System was made by Marlene and her husband Shane,
and early in 2004, Redgate Quilting was formed.
Why the name RedGate Quilting?
Marlene works out of the small central Victorian country
town of Alexandra. Alexandra was formerly known as Red
Gate. Marlene has a keen interest in the history of
Alexandra, hence the name RedGate Quilting.
